Live Band Karaoke Championships
A multi-round singing competition backed by a full live band. Think American Idol meets your favorite bar.
How It Works
The Championships are a bracket-style karaoke tournament held over multiple weeks at a host venue. Each round, singers perform a song with the full Lead Singer Wanted band and are judged on three things: vocal performance, crowd engagement, and showmanship. The audience plays a role too — crowd reaction factors into scoring, which means the room is invested in every single performance.
The competition starts with an open qualifying round where anyone can sign up. From there, the field narrows each week through head-to-head matchups until two finalists face off in a championship round. For the finals, the band learns additional songs outside the standard setlist so finalists can pick the perfect closer.
Why Venues Host Championships
The Championships format fills your venue for multiple consecutive weeks. The bracket format creates a built-in reason for people to come back — contestants return to compete, and their friends return to cheer them on. Each week the stakes get higher, the crowds get bigger, and the performances get better.
Past Championships have packed venues week after week and generated some of the most electric nights we've ever played. The format turns casual bar-goers into regulars and gives the venue a recurring anchor event that people plan their week around.
What a Typical Championships Series Looks Like
A standard series runs 4-6 weeks, though we can adjust the format to fit the venue's schedule. Here's a typical structure:
- Weeks 1-2: Qualifying rounds. Open signup. Every singer performs one song. Judges score each performance and the top singers advance.
- Weeks 3-4: Bracket rounds. Head-to-head matchups. Singers perform and the judges pick a winner from each pairing. The field narrows each week.
- Final week: Championship round. The last two (or three) singers face off. The band learns their requested songs. The crowd picks a side. One singer walks away as champion.
What's Different From a Regular LSW Show
Everything that makes a standard Lead Singer Wanted show great is still there — full live band, professional sound, lighting, music videos on the big screen, lyrics on a monitor, and the Entire Crowd Singalong at the end of each night. The Championships add a competitive layer on top: scoring, brackets, weekly drama, and a title on the line. It's the difference between a pickup basketball game and a tournament — the format is the same, but the stakes change everything.
